
Coastal Lagoons are shallow water bodies separated from the ocean by natural barriers. Waters are calm and brackish. Limited but constant exchange with the sea shapes conditions. The landscape is flat and sunlit. Biological productivity is high. This biome is fragile and highly dynamic.
