Abyssal Plains are vast, flat regions of the deep ocean floor. Fine sediments accumulate slowly across the seafloor. The environment is stable and largely unchanged over time. Temperatures remain cold and constant. Life moves slowly and conserves energy. This biome reflects immensity, stillness, and geological time.
